Home Staff Wellbeing

We care about our people

The wellbeing of our team members is essential to the success of our school and the progress of each student. We have developed an organisational approach to workplace wellbeing.  Our goal is to accompany staff in taking responsibility for their own health and wellbeing both inside and out of work. We wish to foster and encourage openness and dialogue.

We are committed to embedding wellbeing practices into the school’s daily life and into all aspects of our operations. We strive for a healthy workplace where our people flourish and reach their full potential. We believe that workplace wellbeing is not a destination but a journey where there is always room for improvement and a need for sustainable behaviour change.

Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is employee-led by a team of Staff Wellbeing Champions who put in place social structures and regular initiatives to create an environment that fosters a sense of community and support; we expect everyone to do their best and reach a high level of job satisfaction. This common goal plays a vital role in ensuring an open dialogue between stakeholders.

We advocate mental health and offer tailored support and signposting when needed. Because we strongly believe that we have a duty of care to our team and are responsible for their health and safety, we work closely with an experienced Occupational Health practitioner to support our people as much as we can.

As soon as you join our team, you will perceive the strong sense of community. This is the secret to an agile, resilient, and high performing team. That is why the Head of Staff Welfare sits on the Senior Leadership Team.

Staff Appraisal

The effectiveness of any school is clearly linked to the attitudes, qualities and skills of its teaching staff and an intensive appraisal process is necessary to stimulate exemplary performance.

Teaching and non-teaching staff appraisal takes place periodically throughout the year and a formal evaluation takes place at year-end. Department heads, deputy head teacher and the head teachers observe classes. It is normal practice for staff to appraise one another through class visits or team teaching and reflect on teaching practices.

Syllabus coverage is monitored every term by the Academic Team, who appraises work schemes, records and student exercise books.

Teacher’s Day

Teachers‘ Day is important for the students as it gives them a chance to understand the efforts put in by their teachers to ensure that they get proper education.

Similarly, teachers also look forward to Teachers‘ Day celebration as their efforts get recognised and honoured by students and other agencies as well.
